As you read this message at the start of your day, I've already wrapped up my intense 4:30am gym session with my trainer, IceKole, the fearless leader of the Who Want It Crew. Monthly assessments are our reality check as a team, guiding us towards our strength goals for the upcoming month. The workout plan? Well, let's just say it's a challenge with Push Presses, Sumo Squats, Pull-Ups, Hand to Feet, Burpees and more - 10 reps each, 7 cycles. Sounds daunting, right? Yet, we tackle it head-on because, as IceKole says, "If it were easy, everyone would do it." It's a mental game, pushing through the doubt and surprising even ourselves with what we achieve.
Every session teaches me that my potential knows no bounds. The key? Breaking free from self-imposed limitations. Though a goal may seem out of reach at first, pushing beyond those boundaries unlocks new possibilities and new opportunities.
I'd like to share three tips that I have been using that has helps me to overcome my own perceived limits and I hope that they might work for you as well:
Embrace the Discomfort: Growth happens when you step out of your comfort zone. By embracing discomfort, you open the door to growth by actively stepping out of a space where you feel most comfortable and into new spaces where there is play and you can face challenges head-on.
Practice Resilience: Remember that hurdles are simply stepping stones to success. When you view hurdles as stepping stones, it reminds you that each obstacle conquered can strengthen your resilience and determination.
Believe in Your Potential: Challenge doubts and limitations by believing in your innate ability to achieve greatness, fostering a mindset of confidence and self-assurance in your pursuit of goals. I use visualisation here. It helps me to see the goal -- and more importantly, see where I want to go next.
Keep pushing past those limits y'all -- YOU CAN DO IT! - The results may just surprise you. As some of you know, I am working on doing 2-5 pull-ups. It is tough as hell, but we are gonna get there as uncomfortable as it might be. Stay Tuned!
